The forgotten empire style furniture of the Würzburg Palace

The Lead Concept

Remembering a historical curiosity

The Topics

The forgotten empire style furniture of the Würzburg Palace (Residenz Würzburg)

The Exhibition

Using original exhibits and supporting interactive stations, the exhibition communicates a lively impression of the living arrangements under Grand Duke Ferdinand III. and later under the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig I. Around 230 of the ca. 400 pieces of furniture from the Tuscany apartments destroyed during World War II were able to be rescued and restored. Since 12 April 2014 they can be admired in the Würzburg Palace (Residenz Würzburg) as a unique testimony to an often forgotten era of the history of Würzburg.
