The lead concept
A landscape and its inhabitants: long-term perspective and depth of vision
The Swabian Alb Highlands UNESCO biosphere reserve: innovative and sustainable economic management in a unique cultural and natural landscape.
In addition to large-scale diagrams, interactive components and scenic displays, this exhibition is characterized by its multi-media components: As an introduction, visitors can cross the Swabian Alb highland on a walk-over, aerial photograph of the region. The relationship between landscape and people is illustrated in topic-specific short films, incorporating original commentary by local protagonists. Especially the ‘townies’ and ‘highlanders’ pub talk sequences invite a quiet chuckle. The interactive, cinematographic engagement with the role of the mayor and energy-conscious management is as comical as it is informative. And those who need a break after experiencing the ‘forest of discovery’ can lie down on the autumn leaves and watch the flight of the red kite.
